Genre Notes and Annotations

   

I have completed this in order to be able to have a detailed idea of what the film production I was creating would need to be a successful establishment of the genre. This helped me to get a basis to what I needed to construct my production and what the main features and conventional features needed to be a successful horror.

Archetypal Characters

By going into further research about the villain character in depth it means that I could get an idea of what kinds of figure and space my Gillian would have to fill and how it would have to be played in my short media production. The main thing I had taken into consideration is a villain rarely shows there true face which is what I wanted to incorporate into my horror film as this used the fear of the unknown. 

Barthes 5 Codes: Conjuring Scene

For this I used PowerPoint I believe this was a good task to take on as by pulling apart another horror film and the work and the secret messages behind it, it allows for me to be able to get a better understanding of the horror genre and what I need to contain within mine to make it enjoyable for a viewer and to allow me to reach a film with a stronger potential.

Genre and Audience Expectations

This is evidence of me completely research for my media procustion. This was used as it helped me to pick a genre and be able to understand it l. To create this I used the online wed and a word document to be able to collect and gather a table of information for each genre I was looking into. This gave me enough information to pic which one of the genres was the best suitable to what I wanted and also helped me to understand what he conventional features were and what my media production should aim for and the purpose it wants to achieve. Due to in this part me looking mainly at audience expectations it allowed me to get detail on what I could create that I know the audience wanted from that type of genre.
